Overview

Lush is a cosmetics retailer best known for their bath bombs, shower jellies, and focus on sustainability and activism. Our goal was to create a UI design that is easy to follow, and organize information in a way users don’t feel overwhelmed.

Problem

Lush's brand focuses on creating sustainable and ethical products with minimal packaging, which their current UI doesn't reflect.

Solution

Design a clean, elegant UI that fits Lush and their brand values of being clean and ethical, while making the buying process smoother.

RESEARCH

Competitors

Before diving into redesigning, I looked at a few different brands that sell bath and beauty products and analyzed their sites, looking for what works and what doesn’t.

Clean, minimalist design: clear navigation and lots of white space, putting more focus on the product itself.

The UI is clearly branded, incorporating brand colors in a way that makes each button and interaction stand out.

Design is very straightforward; there isn’t any flashy visuals which fits the brand’s values of simplicity and transparency.

The reviews section doesn’t have much separation between each review, making it harder to differentiate between reviews.

We started to research competitors that had similar services to Knowt and analyzed what they excelled at and what needed work.
